- catalog abstract "This exposition of Hebrews was prepared with the needs of pastors, Sunday school teachers and adult Bible study groups in view. It is the outgrowth of several years of studying, teaching and preaching from this epistle in a variety of different situations. The final preparation of material for the press extended over a period of two years. Although an exegesis of the Greek text is not included in this volume, the exposition is based upon a close study of the Greek text and of several versions. The exposition proceeds upon a paragraph-by-paragraph rather than on a verse-by-verse approach, thus seeking the overall thrust and movement of the letter. In this treatment of the epistle special attention is given to three areas: the analytical outline, topical studies, and illustrative material. This exposition is based on the American Standard Version of 1901. - Preface.".
