- catalog abstract "This study was conducted in Santiago, Chile, in 1958. There were two waves of interviews, the first wave was interviewed prior to the presidential election, the second wave was interviewed after the election. In the pre-election wave, the study examines political questions such as political party affiliation and policies associated with each party, presidential candidates and their platforms, the respondent's voting intent, and his or her past voting pattern. The respondent is also asked to pinpoint Chile's most pressing problems and to comment on the position of the Chilean peasants and workers. The post-election wave of the study examines the respondent's estimation of an administration under either of the two most popular candidates and his or her estimation of the election. The first wave contains all 807 respondents, the second only the 399 respondents who voted in the election.".
