Data were collected by the Principal Investigator using the following sources: Adolphe Robert and Gaston Cougny, Dictionnaire des Parlementaires Français, Jean Jolly, Dictionnaire des Parlementaires Français, Annuaire du Parlement, Tableau des Elections a la Chambre des Deputes, and Georges LaChapelle, Les Elections Legislatives des 26 avril et 10 mai 1914. There are 3,963 Deputies, 813 Senators, and 932 members who served in both chambers, for a total of 5,708 individual records. There are 111 variables per record, covering the legislator's dates of service, family background, age, education, profession, local and/or previous electoral service, party and political tendance, successful and unsuccessful campaigns, and department represented.".
