- catalog abstract "The study was conducted by the Institute of Political Science, the University of Goteborg, Sweden. It is a part of a series of studies comprised from nationwide election studies of the Riksdag (parliamentary) elections. The 1960 survey is drawn from nationwide primary sampling units representing the enfranchised population in Sweden. Within these primary units respondents were chosen from official population registers. Only those citizens born between 1880-1938 and eligible to vote were sampled. The survey was carried out in two stages, (subsample A and subsample B). Respondents in Subsample A were given personal interviews preceeding the election, followed by a short questionnaire mailed to them after the election. Those in subsample B were given personal interviews following the election. In addition to demographic information, respondents were asked about their community, their position and mobility within that community, and their exposure to the information media, (television, local and national newspapers, radio, magazines, and political pamphlets). Questions were asked as to which topics were most interesting: crime, political news, international news, sports, editorials, economics, and what impressions these media and topics made in relation to the election. The respondent was asked to react to some of the current political questions and to the government's related policies.".
