• catalog abstract "This dataset contains selected electoral and demographic variables pertinent to the 1950s and 1960s for the nations listed below. In most cases, data are available at several levels of aggregation for each nation. These national data sets were obtained through the Data Confrontation Seminar held under Consortium auspices from April 1 to April 18, 1969. The data are relevant to nine nations and include, in general, returns for two or more national and/or local elections, and ecological materials for at least two time points in the general period of the 1950's and 1960's. While each data set was received at a single level of aggregation, the data have been further aggregated to at least a second level of aggregation. In most cases, the data can be supplied at the commune or municipality level and at the province or district level as well. Data errors discovered during the Seminar (or subsequently reported to the ICPSR by the originators of the data sets) have been corrected. However, the data are only partially proofed, and final proofing and updating procedures have not been carried out. Denmark: Data for all communes and provinces for the national elections of 1947, 1950, 1953, 1960, 1964, and 1966, and ecological data from the censuses of 1950 and 1960 (Data supplied by O. France: Data for the cantons and departements of two regions of France (West and Central) for the national elections of 1956, 1962, and 1967, and ecological data for the years 1954 and 1962. The second set of data is available for 466 communes created by administrative reorganization in 1961, with returns for national elections in 1961 and 1965, and ecological data from the 1960 census.
