Channel File: This file contains data for 2,080 news organs---1,807 press, 183 radio, and 86 T.V. Variables describe characteristics of the news organs including language, size, frequency, location, source, and issue covered. c. Peripheral File: This file contains data for 91,195 news reports containing some discrete piece of information referring in some way to the United Nations system or its components, or to United Nations affairs and events carried by organs of the press, radio, and T.V. during a scheduled period of observation. Variables describe type, place, frequency, formal, circulation, distribution, language, political affiliation, tupe of programming, type of broadcast, type of network, and duration.".
