- catalog abstract "This study, conducted in 1964 in the Chilean cities of Santiago, Concepcion, and Temuco, examines the respondents' attitudes toward such national issues as important problems which Chile must face, major obstacles to more rapid development, collaboration with the United States to promote the economic development of Chile, the position of United States companies in Chile, and the influence of political, military, religious, and professional groups. The respondents' opinions of Communism, capitalism, and socialism were measured in questions asking which system would be best for Chile and why. International affairs are also examined. The respondents are asked about the Cuban Revolution, the effectiveness of the Organization of American States and their opinions of the Alliance for Progress, especially as it affects Chile. Exposure to the mass media, including foreign radio broadcasts, was explored as are the respondents' opinions of various foreign governments' publications.".
