Woods also received two S.T.D. degrees, both in 1810; one was from Dartmouth College and the other was from the College of New Jersey. He was ordained as pastor of the Third Church in Newbury, Massachusetts on December 5, 1798 and held the position until May 26, 1808. In 1810, he became Professor of Christian Theology at Andover Theological Seminary, an institution he was instrumental in establishing. Leonard Woods died in Andover, Massachusetts on August 24, 1854.".
