Wallace and William F. Christensen. Christensen served as Artistic Director of the Ballet West from its inception until he founded his own academy of dance. This academy joined with the Ballet West in 1983 to become the Ballet West Christensen Academy. Bruce Marks became the Artistic Director of the Ballet West in 1971 until his appointment as Artistic Director of the Boston Ballet in 1985.".
