Mr. Thomson attended and made characteristically spontaneous, sharp and amusing critiques and comments during three concerts of his music in Agassiz Theatre. Professional musicians including Fenwick Smith and violinist Sharan Leventhal, Harvard alumnae, and students performed in the concerts, each of which drew 150-200 people. Thomson also gave a lecture called "The Words and Music Thing" to an audience of 150 in Paine Hall in the Music Building. In a panel discussion at North House attended by 100 people, "Lord Byron: A Talk About the Opera", Thomson discussed "Lord Byron" with Jack Larson who wrote the Libretto, and writer Anthony Tommasini. This celebration was co-sponsored by the North House Music Society and the Music Department.".
