The Learning From Performers Program and the Afro-American Studies Department sponsored a discussion, "The Making of a Composer", in the Junior Common Room at Quincy House which was attended by six people. In the Discussion, Mr. Kay talked about his music, his education, his career, and his many years of teaching at the Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York as a "Distinguished Professor of Music".".
