- catalog abstract "Paper 1: This article describes the method selected by the state of Connecticut to analyze accident data. Using a statistical evaluation of accidents by contrasting the pertinent accident rates against the roadway mean, occurrence levels are monitored and critical areas can be identified more easily. Paper 2: This field investigation was designed to measure the influence of speed limits on individual drivers speed characteristics in a series of contiguous rural and urban areas. Paper 4: A rational technique was developed designed to ascertain scientific warrants for the regulation of vehicular speeds. Paper 5: A formula connecting the speed distribution measured in time with the speed measured in space is derived and applied to the cases of Pearson type III distributions, and lognormal distributions.".
