- catalog description "English explorer and naturalist Antwerp Edgar Pratt (1854-1924) conducted his first expedition to the island of New Guinea in 1905 and his second from 1907-1908. He was a member of the Royal Geographic Society and the author of several books. Boston physician, sailor, and philanthropist Charles Goddard Weld traveled throughout Asia and the South Pacific. He is best known for his purchase and donation of Ernest Fenollosa's collection of Japanese art to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Charles Kerry and Henry King were important photographers in late-19th and early-20th century Sydney, Australia; and Elizabeth Pulman became possibly the first woman professional photographer when she took over her husband's studio after his death in 1871.".
