- catalog abstract "199 original landscape drawings to illustrate the poems of English poet, Baron Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892). Drawings are in sepia wash and Chinese white and all from 1885. Drawings are uniform in size, 16 x 26 cm., and are laid down on uniform mounts, 25.5 x 35 cm., one to a mount. Most drawings were numbered and dated in the drawing by Lear himself. Most of the mounts also include a printed caption cut from a numbered list and pasted onto the lower margin of the mount. The transcriptions of titles in the finding aid come from these captions. Where the title transcription in Edward Lear on my shelves [ELOMS] (pages 269-277) varies, it is given as well.".
