Divorced in 1966, Frankie Bunyard worked for Sert, Jackson and Associates until 1976, when she left to devote full time to carving signs, and set up the Bunyard Studio in Arlington, Massachusetts. She carved plaques and signs in wood and later in stone for businesses and institutions; her first commission for a work in stone was for the dedication plaque for the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. She continued to work until six months before her death in 1993.".
