- catalog description "College House, located at 1420-42 Massachusetts Ave., was built in 1832. Almost half of the occupants of College House from 1832 until 1860 were graduate students, so the building became informally known as "Graduates' Hall." The House had 60 rooms and was for students of limited means, offering low rates. By 1916, many of the rooms were vacant as the building was notoriously noisy, dusty, and otherwise lacking in modern comforts. The University, in 1916, traded College House with the Randolph Trust for Apthorp House, Randolph Hall, and other property on Linden Street.".
