- catalog description "Located along the Charles River on Memorial Drive, Dunster House was one of the first two houses built under the house plan of President Lowell. Designed by the architectural firm of Coolidge, Shepley, Bulfinch, and Abbott, Dunster House was completed in 1930. It was named in honor of Reverend Henry Dunster, the first president of Harvard College. The clock tower of Dunster is modeled after the Big Tom Tower of Christchurch College at Oxford University. Dunster has traditionally been known as a very musical house. The enormous and well-stocked house library doubles as a small concert hall for performances by either house residents or by Dunster's composer-in-residence.".
