- catalog description "Austin Hall, adjacent to Hemenway Gymnasium, was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson (A.B. 1859) at a cost of $135,000. It is a fine example of Richardson Romanesque, similar to Richardson's Sever Hall in the Yard. Built in 1883 to replace Dane Hall, Austin Hall was the sole bulding of the Law School until 1907, when the south wing of Langdell was completed. The building was a gift of the Boston merchant, Edwin Austin, in memory of his older brother, Samuel. Located in Austin Hall are lecture rooms, reading rooms, and offices for the Law School.".
