It was to be called Forbes House, named for Edward Waldo Forbes who was Director Emeritus of the Fogg Art Museum. To be located at the corner of DeWolfe and Quincy Streets, Forbes House was intended to serve as both a home for Dean John U. Monro and his family, as well as place the Dean in the midst of the upperclassmen residence halls. In 1960 construction of Forbes House was deemed too costly and the project was shelved.".
