The photographs, negatives, and slides (many not identified) depict Barghoorn and family members at parties, garden harvests, weddings, on vacation, and fishing. The photographs also show Barghoorn standing on a formation of gunflint iron at Current River Park in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada (1964) and participating at the Fifth Northeast Paleobotanical Conference at Harvard Forest, Massachusetts (1982). Additionally, a photograph album includes images of Barghoorn receiving an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Miami University in Ohio at commencement exercises in 1980. This accession includes Barghoorn's Bachelor of Arts diploma (1937) and honorary Doctor of Science diploma (1980) from Miami University and a certificate of appreciation for Barghoorn's twenty-five years of service from Harvard University (1968). Three memoranda notebooks appear to include Barghoorn's notes from a research expedition and an account notebook documents Thompson Fund operating expenses Barghoorn incurred at the Botanic Museum (1946-1952). This accession also contains Barghoorn's United States passports (1950-1977), a Kingdom of Tonga driver's license (1975), news clippings referring to Barghoorn's Miami University honorary degree, and Barghoorn's business cards, 1937-1982 and undated (.53 cubic feet, 1 document box).".
