- catalog abstract "Between 1981 and 1995, for his research on ancient metal objects of the Indian subcontinent, Dr. Yule traveled throughout India and Pakistan, examining, photographing, and drawing metal objects at many institutions. The majority of the artifacts studied belong to the Indus Valley Civilization and contemporary sites, as well as some material from the second millennium BCE. The freshly gathered information was combined with a thorough study of all published metal objects (primarily from the third millennium BCE). Sites documented in the Yule Papers include: Mohenjo-daro, Harappa, Chanhu-daro, Lothal, Kalibangan, Chandigarh, Rangpur, Surkotada, Banawali, Jimina Hill (Trap Rock excavations), the S.C. Roy Collection from Ranchi, and objects found in the Northwest Frontier Province of Pakistan (Swat Valley, Sarai Khola). The archival materials reveal the meticulous documentation and research Yule conducted. He subsequently published four catalogs (1985a, 1985b, 1985c, 1989), and some of his drafts for these volumes are included in his papers.".
