He was founder and first secretary of the Boston Mycological Club. Helen Maria (Noyes) Webster attended Vassar (1895-1896) and Radcliffe (1897-1898) colleges and lectured and wrote on gardening and botany. They had six children and lived in Lexington, Mass.".
