- aggregation title "Early-age behavior of reinforced concrete under restrained conditions".
- aggregation abstract "Concrete structures are prone to cracking due to the shrinkage at early-age. Shrinkage cracks can influence the durability of the structure by inducing reinforcement corrosion. Furthermore, cracking can influence the normal use of the concrete, especially for underground structures under water level. A special rigid restrained frame device for axialrestrained shrinkage test is devised by which the degree of restraint can be completely controlled. A multi-signal data collecting system is also designed for measuring the restrained load and deformation of the specimen. Axial-restrained shrinkage tests on both normal concrete and high strength concrete are performed with this system. Reinforced concrete with three different reinforcement ratios (0.5%, 1.13%, and 2.01%) was also tested. Based on the experiments and theoretical analysis, the influence of water cement ratio and percentage of reinforcement on the early-age behavior of reinforced concrete under restrained conditions, such as the development of constrained tensile stress and cracking behavior has been studied.".
